A NEW METHOD FOR DETECTION OF VAGINAL MATERIAL
The ability to identify body fluids is often the key in interpreting evidence in the context of a case and maximising the value of forensic findings in court. However, in the past, forensic scientists have been unable to reliably detect vaginal material.
After extensive research and ISO17025 accreditation, Eurofins Forensic Services have recently launched Attribute. Attribute can identify the presence of vaginal material by detecting the mRNA specific to vaginal material.
This 1-hour training session will introduce this new method and explain how it can be utilised in the investigation of digital penetration cases. We will give an overview of the method, the case scenarios where this may be useful and also talk through some of the questions we have received since launching the service.
Please note this course is only for member of the police.
